Senior Consultant

I spent most of my time with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) as a consultant to USAA in Austin Tx. Their insurance rating engine was still hosted on an IBM mainframe and using Db2. We modernized the system using Gupta Java, an OTS product that extended the functionality of Sun Microsystem’s vanilla Java. The user interface was written in Java Swing. CORBA was used to interface with the main frame where necessary and JBDB for the db2 connections.

Network Administrator

While back in Atlanta I assisted with maintaining the network infrastructure; installing software and security patches and upgrades to the Windows servers, the dial in modem pool, and the IVR/VM system.
